It wasn't long after we met and I knew that you were God's gift to me! I'm so thankful that he was able to show me this so I would not run forever!

 We'll be moving into our new house soon and one chapter of our lives will be finish but the other is just beginning!

Deep South Dish

 I'm not cooking much these days and so I don't have any new recipes to share. I'm busy breaking down my kitchen and getting everything ready to move. I am blessed in that my kids cook for us a lot right now. I've decided that I want to help promote some of my many blogger friends out there who live with and without gluten and put a lot of time into perfecting recipes that we can all enjoy.

The first one I have chosen is NOT gluten-free but she's very southern and that makes up the difference. I don't know how I happened upon this lady but I love her recipes and reading her blog. I think one of the things that drew me to her was her saying, "You can be thin and wrinkly, or you can have another bowl of banana pudding and fluff that stuff out!" I love it!

I have been following Mary's blog on twitter and facebook for a while now and have just discovered that she is located in Mississippi, now that talks! I like it that she is not a chef or professional and doesn't try to act like one but she cooks delicious recipes in her own kitchen and shares them with us.

Look at her blog, you can pick out any category you want and I promise you will find something that makes your mouth water. Mine does ALL the time.

So take a minute, sit back, grab a cold glass of ice tea and enjoy. As soon as I am moved and have my kitchen back together I'm going to take some recipes from, "Deep South Dish" and transpose them to "Gracefully Gluten-Free".

Bring the Rain

How are things going with you? I've been busy this week packing and spending time with my kids, well the ones who live close. My packing is going really slow. Probably because I won't just throw it in a box I have to go through everything clean out some and organize the other. Will I EVER get through?


Today Ash and I ran to Columbus to take care of some business and while we were there the bottom fell out (if you're not from the south, it started raining real hard). We only had a few stops to make and didn't have to get Punkin out except for twice so it wasn't bad just inconvenient. We are back on the farm now and it is thundering and there are dark clouds overhead. I really don't like storms but I guess we'll always have them. When it rains I can't help but think of the song by MercyMe, "Bring The Rain".


Honey has been in the hills and flat land. He's on his way to the farm now so he'll probably put me to working for real but I'm glad we'll be together again. We've decided that it would be best if I stay out of the hills while they are working on our house, due to the dust and paint fumes! 

Punkin is getting so big and never stays still. This is her climbing on my laptop case, she tries to get the laptop but I won't let her so I guess she thinks this is the next best thing. She will climb over it and sometimes fall off but keeps trying until I put it away.

She was so funny at "Mi Hacienda" today Ash had a hard time feeding her because she kept watching the baby next to us and soccer on TV.

By the time we got to the Honda place she was tired of this seat and sleepy too. I  needed to stop at Hallmark and Ashia looked over to get her and she was asleep so we drove on leaving Hallmark for a later date.

Yay I won again!

Remember the mixes that I won a few weeks back. If not go and read my blog "Yay I WON". Well recently I won something else. I have made many new friends on Gluten-Free Faces and one of them is Elaine. She gave away this button and I was the winner. If you are offended by this button I can tell that you do not know anything about Celiac Disease! When we get glutened we have to practically live in the bathroom. Did my Mom ever visit in your home? Think about it where did she go many times after eating her meal? It's because she was not eating correctly, a lot of this could have been prevented had she have known. Because of what my Mother went through I'm not afraid to speak out strongly so that maybe someone else can be helped before it is too late!

Gluten-Free Doesn't Mean Nasty

Over the weekend I was craving breakfast and this is what I had. I'm here to tell you that just because it is gluten-free doesn't' mean it is nasty! I used Pamela' pancake mix and made homemade blueberry syrup!! Yum yum

I've got to get better at identifying my plants. Honey and I are doing major landscaping next year. We've put it off a year due to time, money and our just wanting to see what's in the yard. During this time we'll be deciding what we want to keep and what we want to dig up. So, I've been keeping a close watch on my plants. I know the magnolia pictured above but what is the small white flowers, click on it to get a  closer look, they are on a bush and almost look like a dogwood except for they don't have the red tips. Also what is the green plant pictured at the top? It reminds me of a mother-in-law tongue but I know it's not.

I spent a lot of my time this past trip cleaning the whirlpool and oh, boy was it worth it. Honey and I enjoyed our time in it and slept so much better. I can see we will enjoy this in the future!

We have finally hired someone to do all of the work needing to be done in the house and I am so excited. I don't know exactly how long this process will take but I'm in for some serious packing and MOVING!!! 

That'll have to do you, maybe I can post more later but I may just be too busy!

GF Tuna Casserole Meal Review

Ok, I tried my first mix from "Mixes from the Heartland" and I loved it. Seriously, I must have cooked it just right because it was this wonderful, creamy, delicious, goodness of noodles, vegetables, tuna and spices. I don't think I could have made it this perfect from scratch. And did I mention that it was super easy? I had been out shopping and was hot and tired, it was so good to have a full meal that took only adding a very few ingredients and supper was done! Honey who doesn't have to eat gluten-free loved it too and said that I have his permission to order more. Before I place my order, which could be quit large, I'm going to try some of the other mixes. By the way I think next time I"ll crush some potato chips up and put on top. What do you think?

I am beginning to fill up my pantry and I'm so happy that it includes Mixes from the Heartland! Thank you Teri you are making my moving so much easier!

Yay I WON!

What precious moments we share with those we love. Everyday is Mother's Day because we GET to be a mother not everyone has this opportunity and I feel blessed. It could only have been better had my other children been home! Honey and I spent the week in Greenwood and on Saturday I got up and headed to the farm to spend the afternoon and evening with Be and Ash. Honey continued to work in the flat land while we went out to eat. :( Punkin and I had a photo shoot session, well actually it was to be her session but she didn't cooperate very well so I was allowed to join her. You can see she was trying to eat all the flowers!

I just received a wonderful mother's day present. Last year I won a giveaway with a company that I love their products and I was so excited but the products never came. I won through another blogger and it's not a big deal so I didn't bother to contact her, but I was disappointing. This year I won a giveaway with another company and I was kind of skeptical after my last experience but guess what???? The products came this time and I am sooo excited! I just received them today so I will post reviews after I get the chance to try them. I am cooking more now so I plan to try them soon. Here are what I will be reviewing.....

I'm so excited about trying these mixes, I plan to try the tuna casserole tonight. They are a very good size should make plenty for me and my honey!!!

Happy Mother's Day

As Mother's Day approaches fast I spend a lot of time thinking about my mother and all she meant to me! She was more than just a mother, she was my friend and I love her dearly. I say love because one day we will be together again, it is not the end when you have a relationship with the Father.


On Mother's Day I also spend a lot of time thinking about the different mother's or yet to be mother's in our family.

Here are some Mother's in my immediate family:

The first mother is Mary, she is our first born and such a joy in our lives. She is married to George and lives in Indiana. Mary is a nurse who chooses to stay at home with her children Alayna, Emma and Joshua. We feel that Mary sacrifices above and beyond for her family and we appreciate all that she does! We call Mary our Martha Stewart because of her abilities in decorating, cooking etc. I wish that she lived closer to help me now. We love you Mary Happy Mother's Day!!!!!!

The second mother-to-be is Sarah, she is our middle child and she also is a joy in our lives! She is married to Eric and they live in Colorado. Eric and Sarah are adopting Internationally and we couldn't be more excited! They have no children of their own, well except for their dogs, at this time. We have been watching Sarah planning and getting ready for adoption and we have marveled at how she is making herself available for such a time as this. Sarah has always been our career daughter who we thought would never have children because she has always lived life in the fast lane working all the time. To get ready to raise a family she has started her own jewelry art business and quit a good job to stay at home. I can't wait to see what God has in store for her and Eric! We love you Sarah, Happy Mother's Day!!!!!

And last but not least the third mother is our baby daughter Ashia who is ALSO a joy in our lives! She is married to Ben and they manage our farming in East Mississippi, we couldn't farm there without them. Ben and Ashia blessed us with their first child Austin last September. Ashia has amazed us with her mothering skills, she does research daily to be a better mother and help provide for Austin's spiritual and physical needs. She also, like the other two girls is very creative and her decorating and cooking abilities qualify her to be our Little Martha Stewart. Ashia and I have been through a lot together and she has always been there for me! Thank you Ashia, We love you too Happy Mother's Day!!!!!!!!

Runaway Roller,

As the story goes, after lunch today I began painting my kitchen pantry. When I signed up for this job I thought that we could pull all the shelves out and I could paint them and the inside wall and then I would be finished. NOT SO!!! Some of the shelves came out but three would not so I had to use a brush and paint all of them, around them plus a lot of the wall because there was no room for a roller. Honey, gave me a roller to use on what I could, I started painting and the roller scoots right off my paint thingy down a cereal box and then rolled across the floor. After I cleaned up the mess I went out and told Honey to come get his roller and I never wanted to see it again. Well Honey, in all his superior wisdom, didn't want to waste the paint so he squeezed the paint out of the roller onto one shelf in the pantry. There was sooo much paint that it ran off the shelf onto the floor below.  After he was through, I just glared at him I couldn't believe it with my own eyes, he turns carrying my runaway roller and walks out and leaves me with all the mess. When I went out later to take him some soap he says, "by the way honey I know why that roller had so much paint in it and wouldn't cooperate,  it was meant for the power painter!" I just turned, in all my superior wisdom, and walked back inside. So a little piece of advice, if your roller runs away place it in a plastic bag and throw it in the garbage, don't let your Honey get it! We're having a marvelous time!

When we leave the hills we always head out to Be and Ash's. We want to see them but we're there for kisses from Punkin and sometimes we have to wait until she wakes up. Saturday and Monday we spent a little time with them and here is what we found.

 She is growing so fast we see changes every time we go back to the farm.

Honey hopes to plant more beans this week! We are thankful everything looks great so far.

My crop, it's a small one this year! That'll have to do ya I've got to get in there and see if I can finish that pantry!
