Last Saturday I visited our local farmer's market. I had been wanting to do this for a long time but Honey was never home to go with me and to be honest I always forgot until it was too late. Our farmer's market is open on Saturday's only from seven to twelve.
On Friday night I came up with a plan and I'm so glad it worked out. Honey and I slept as late as we wanted and then went out for breakfast and went to the farmer's market. We enjoyed buying fresh veggies and talking with the vendors there, I will be returning soon!
Late that afternoon I cooked and we had a meal of fresh veggies southern style. Ummm I was in heaven!
Well, not literally Sunday we went to church and heard Don Piper, what a blessing this guy is if you have never heard his story you need too!
That's the real heaven but for now my fresh veggies do make me think of heaven.
After church we took a drive to the flat land to check out the farm.
Thank God for water, we have received a little rain but not much so while at the flat land we started the water up.
Thanks for stopping by y'all and please come again soon!

Mixes from the Heartland Taco Rice Skillet Meal
Honey was at the farm working and I was to have several days alone. What could I cook that would be simple and fast so that I could eat on it several days. I dipped into my Mixes from the Heartland stash and decided that I could make their Taco Rice Skillet Meal and I'm so glad I did.
It is so good, I ate it by itself in a bowl the first night and the next night I ate it wrapped in a warm corn tortilla. YUM
Here more information on this great product!

Father's Day weekend
We had a fun Father's Day weekend Steve took two whole days off. This is a big thing for a farmer he made a trip to both farms on Saturday to pick up things and I accused him of not being able to stay away but he swears he only loaded what he needed for the next week and returned to the house.
On Saturday afternoon we road to Starkville and cooked out with Ben and Ashia. They had a few friends over who we enjoyed visiting with and talking about familiar places.
On Sunday Honey and I attended church after accidentally sleeping in. After church we went to a fast food restaurant for lunch, which we never do but I let him choose and we didn't want to stand in line anywhere. After lunch we went home and relaxed, at sun down we both ended up working in the yard a while.
Another blessing this week is re RECEIVED RAIN. We have been so dry our crops and allergies are suffering!
Some photos of our weekend:
Honey, I just happened to have my camera ready if he had seen me he wouldn't have been this happy.

Bakery on Main TrueBar Review
I love Bakery on Main's granola so when they contacted me to try their new True Bars I was sooo excited. When I received the bars and ate my first one I was NOT disappointed. They are delicious and one of the best things is that they are lower in calories than most of the granola bars out there.
So far I have ate the Fruit and Nut Bar and the Walnut Cappuccino Bar and both are wonderful.
Here's a little more information for you.
The True Bar is a new bar that appears to be similar to the KIND Bar. The slogan for the bar is “I’ve got nothing to hide”. There are six varieties of bars:
Late in 2003, after tasting a granola recipe one of the bakers was working on, Smulders said, “these gluten free people need granola!” He walked through the store and gathered ingredients and baked the first batch that day. It took almost 2 years to find gluten free sources of all the ingredients and find a place where we could make the product without risk of cross-contamination.
Three years and two bakeries later, their gluten free granola is made in a 34,000 square foot manufacturing facility with state of the art quality controls and in-house gluten testing on every batch. Located just a few miles down the road from the original bakery, the plant maintains the small bakery quality by continuing to bake in small batches.
Bakery on Main products can be found in many stores across the US. Click here to find the closest store to you or here to purchase online.
I'm not sure when these bars will hit the market but if I were you I would stay on the lookout!

Our Story
It all started in the small bakery of a natural foods market on Main Street in Glastonbury, Connecticut. Founder Michael Smulders listened to his Celiac customers complain about the taste of many of the gluten free options available to them. He thought that no one should have to suffer because of a food allergy or other special dietary need, and made it his mission to create products that were good for them but taste like they aren’t.Late in 2003, after tasting a granola recipe one of the bakers was working on, Smulders said, “these gluten free people need granola!” He walked through the store and gathered ingredients and baked the first batch that day.
