Happy Birthday Honey

Honey's birthday is today but we celebrated yesterday. Well if you call it a celebration, it was a celebration to us.

I had a training meeting at the museum all morning yesterday plus other things going on and didn't get home until late in the afternoon. I had some meat out so that I could cook supper and then I thought about I have another meeting tonight so we wouldn't get to do anything for Honey's birthday. My wheels went to spinning and I started trying to think about something quick I could do just to let him know that I care and this is what I came up with.

Who says dessert has to be fancy, after all it's the thought that counts!

I hope he's as happy as he seems, time will tell.

Happy birthday Honey, you deserve so much more maybe later.

You're The One That I Love!

It wasn't long after we met and I knew that you were God's gift to me! I'm so thankful that he was able to show me this so I would not run forever!

 We'll be moving into our new house soon and one chapter of our lives will be finish but the other is just beginning!

Rock Your Body?

We've been here working a couple of days, everything seemed to be going pretty fast until the ground dried up. I know the farming has to get done but it sure is hard for me to accomplish much painting alone! I worked all afternoon yesterday and feel like I accomplished little.

I offered to paint the breezeway alone. Now why I did that I'll never know. First of all I didn't look around, yes it's a small room but it has a lot things that stand in your way. This is a photo of the window that I started on.

This is the finished product. I then began the trim around the ceiling, what a job. I mean it's not hard but when you stand 5' it's a challenge. I did good until I realized that I had something blocking my way from putting my ladder close to the wall. 

And here it is, I couldn't figure out how to get my painters ladder past the steps? So I just skipped part of the trim for Honey to do later!

And I began on the door. It was a easy job AFTER I taped up all the windows. How slow can you go? Pretty dead gum slow!

This is the finished product, now the spot on the lower left hand side is the sunlight reflecting on my bright white door. Don't want you to think I messed up that bad. I stopped and cleaned up everything around 6pm. I have to be honest I was worn out. This old body just ain't what it use to be.

This morning I can feel every pain well! I was searching for a good radio station and "Rock Your Body" came on, is that a message for me?

Better get up from here, put my coffee cup away and go to painting!

We're working hard but where is the progress?

Honey and I worked around the farm Monday and then headed to the hills!

Honey gave the bushes on the farm a nice haircut! Now I know you are thinking that they look awful but they were so big that they covered the house. We'll see if they grow out of this one.

When we got in the hills we had to run to the flat land and take care of a piece of equipment. Finally we were able to resume our painting in the garage, remember we left it last week because of the storm. Well to make a long story short we've decided that we definitely need to hire someone for the inside of the house! :( We are not real good at painting and oh boy we are slow, so we have someone coming to meet with us tomorrow. If he doesn't work out we're going to take bids and see what happens, I do want to move in this place!

Have you tried these? Man oh man I like them. The last time I placed a gluten-free order they were out of my crackers so I've been using these instead. Try them!

I really think I've found a little piece of heaven.

Honey and I spent Friday and Saturday working on the new house. Everyone wants to see what it looks like so I thought I would post a few before and after photos.

We like adding the mulch and maybe planting a rose bush in another part of the yard. This shows the very front of the house, I didn't feel you would want a tour of my trees.

Here's a few trees I'll share.

 

I've always wanted a magnolia tree and now I have one, although Honey says that I'll never live to see it big and beautiful. Oh well God has blessed me with a small taste of owning a magnolia tree.

We have several of these but this is a hug one that is outside our breezeway in front of the garage.

Now that you have seen a lot of Honey's hard work I'll show you just a taste of mine. After all who wants to see a women mop the floor and scrub toilets, right?

A small part of the kitchen I have scrubbed, I thought I was through and while we were eating breakfast Saturday morning I realized that I have not cleaned the oven. Oh well I'm working on all floors today so I'll get the oven next time around.

My new best friend. Jan had told me about this several months or maybe a year ago but I never made the investment. It's one of those things that sounded too good to be true. But guess what ladies? IT IS WONDERFUL! If you have not bought one for yourself and you have any type of smooth surface flooring QUICKLY go get one! I don't know how I have made it without this wonderful woman's tool.

I really think I've found a little piece of heaven. We stayed in our new home, camping out style, Friday night and it was extremely quiet, peaceful and dark. I loved it!

That'll have to do ya, we're returning to Macon soon to attend a wedding.

Friends can eat gluten-free too!

We really enjoyed our visit with Fred and Marion. Due to the cold weather we stayed in a lot but had fun all the same.

Ash and Punkin came over every morning and spent the day with us.

 

Punkin is eating now and it is so funny, she makes such a mess that Ashia strips her down to her diaper and bib. Of course she loves going without cloths so she's happy. 

  

The Easy Gluten Free Cheesecake I make.

We ate constantly. We talked about cutting back but when friends get together it is a time to celebrate and we celebrated by eating. They did not seem to mind that the meals were gluten free at all.

Steve took Fred to the MSU, Kentucky game. Fred loves basketball and we thought this would be a treat. They got in late that night and Fred seemed to have really enjoyed himself!

Marion and I stayed home and took care of Punkin and that was Marion's treat. Austin loves Marion and just laughs when she talks to her. This is Punkin playing with her Valentine from Mom.

Home from The Windy Delta

We left for the Delta (2 ½ hours one way) on the Wednesday after Easter and farmed there for a few days. On Friday there were thunderstorms moving in for the area so we packed up and left for the other farm we arrived here late Friday night. On Sunday we left once more to go to the hills and now it is Saturday the 25th and we have just returned from a week long stay. Steve has most of the crop in the ground, only one short trip to go and everything will be planted there.

While I was there I was blessed in that I went to the local grocery store, run and owned by Orientals, to buy more SoyJoy bars. She has been selling them to me for $4.49 a box (6) and this time she told me that she was going to give me a discount I bought them for $2.50. WOW what a bargain!

The Bird Is STILL Here

Can you believe the little Cardinal that I have been blogging about is still hanging out here? Week before last while cleaning our family room I came across a stained glass sun catcher with the picture of a blue bird on it. I didn’t think about it but after I hung it on the sliding glass door I did not see the little Cardinal again. My husband brought to my remembrance that other birds do not like blue birds so I had run the little bird off. I have to admit I was happy and cleaned the glass of the sliding doors real good for the first time since the little bird had been fluttering up and down them. I plan to keep that sun catcher around a long time! Last Saturday morning I heard a little chirp you may think I’m nuts but I know when I hear this little Cardinal because I’ve heard it for so long. I started looking for it and it had come up under the carport and was sitting on MY CAR. Not only had it messed up the carport but the whole side of my car was messed up as well. Steve laughed at me and I just shook my head, at the first opportunity I went out and cleaned my car up so I could take it in public. On Sunday morning I was the one laughing as I heard the bird and it was perched on the side of Steve’s truck, NEVER laugh at anyone it may come back on you!

My Apple Computer

Before I left for the hills I ordered an Apple computer for the road and I was so excited. Now it is here so I plan to have it up and running asap! This is my first time owning a Mac but I have heard nothing but good about them. With the laptop I will be able to blog anywhere and keep up with all of my friends. It will also give Steve and I the capability to check the markets and weather while away from home. Isn’t modern technology great?
