It's A

Since the night Ashia announced to us that she was going to have another baby I have been saying, "honey it's a boy". At first she would always say, "MOM you don't know". Then after a while she began to think it was a boy too.

Monday I went to Starkvegas to spend some time playing with big sister Austin and we were able to go with Mom and Dad to see baby ?. 

I am one blessed Grandmother I already have four grand-daughters who are precious and one grand-son who is a doll. And NOW God is blessing us with another.......

BOY!!!

Who would have thought it? I tell you it's a special thing that God has given me with my children I just knew.

Big sister is beginning to comprehend (I think) that she is going to have a baby. She says, "baebae budder waa waa waa". She is soo cute.

Chicken Broccoli Casserole & a list of Christmas lights in our local area!

The girls are gone, Pepaw is running the vacuum cleaner and I am washing up the school girls cloths and cooking lunch and dinner. For lunch I am using some leftover chicken and making homemade chicken salad, a family favorite. For dinner I am making my "Chicken Broccoli Casserole" and serving it with a baby lettuce salad. The girls love this casserole so I thought it would be just the treat to serve before we go to view the "Lights Under Louisville", and maybe Momma will have some leftovers to serve them later.

Chicken Broccoli Casserole
Servings: 8
Cooking Time: 1 hour

Ingredients :
1 cup mayonnaise
2 eggs
1 onion; chopped into small pieces
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 ½ cups water
1 tsp. garlic salt
4 cups broccoli; partially cooked
1 chicken; cooked and chopped
2 cups grated cheddar cheese
1 cup breadcrumbs

Instructions :
Mix the first six ingredients together and set aside. Mix the chicken, broccoli, breadcrumbs and cheese together then add the mayonnaise mixture to it. Put in a 3x9x12 dish and bake in the oven for 1-hour at 350 degrees.

I make this recipe gluten-free by using, Glutano "Cream of Mushroom Soup Mix".

 


 

 I also use "Gillians Gluten Free Bread Crumbs".

We had several special times of singing Christmas carols with the girls. I love, love Christmas music so that was right down my alley.

"Lights Under Louisville" was a lot of fun it was cold and rainy so driving through a cavern looking at Christmas lights was the thing to do. These are special times that we will remember for years to come, I hope the girls do.  For all of you local people I ran across this and it looks like fun too. Baby Joshua got home right before we left for Louisville and after our tour we hurried home to see him again.

Steve and I will be traveling tomorrow! I'm excited about making plans for Christmas with our SMALL family. Our older girls and their families will not be with us and we'll dearly miss them but we'll try to make the best of it until we're able to all be together again!!!

We LOVE ALL our kids from the youngest to the oldest!!!!

Day Two

The girls were so good this morning, the next two days of school are party days so they were ready.

Emma was able to wear her jammies today, what fun. I wish I could wear my jammies to the grocery store and hospital but I'm thinking I had better get dressed! They were having a "Polar Expess Day" at school.

Alayna was having a  normal school day but with the party beginning. I can't wait to hear their stories of what they did today.

We slipped away to the hospital while the girls were at school. Poor baby didn't stand at chance when these two grandparents got our hands on him. He is such a little man (very little)!

I know I look awful but I am happy, Joshua even thought I looked awful!

We had a little talk, then Pepaw and I left to go take care of the girls.

He makes the funniest faces.

Ashia this ones for you. Look what they use with their babies in the hospital here!

After we fed them we took the girls back to the hospital. I hope Josh is ready for this, they are sure excited and plan to well take care of him.

They've got a lot to learn, they do pretty well holding him but when they are ready to hand him over to someone they just push him forward and let go. George spent a lot of time tonight explaining how careful they have to be. My THREE babies Wow!

My Diet....

I bet your thinking what are you eating all this time? While the kids and Pepaw have donuts for breakfast, a family tradition anytime we visit out kids, I have General Mills Ceral or a piece of toast and coffee.

 

When I arrived Sunday Mary had bought me a bag of groceries in it was "Ener-G Tapoica Loaf".  While this isn't my favorite bread it is good to have something different once in a while. I've really enjoyed the small sandwiches I've been able to have. The bread I keep on hand is large slices and I have to eat a lot of half of sandwiches.

She had also bought, "Blue Diamond Natural Nut-Thins" these have been really good with Mississippi States, "Edom Cheese". Thank you George for sharing your cheese with us.

Day One

Tuesday Mary had a doctors appointment and they scheduled the delivery of Joshua for 5 Wednesday morning.

After supper George and Mary had to go look for a battery for their video camera, to no avail I guess it will be photos only. The girls were in a playful mood and we enjoyed the time spent with them. When you tell Emma to smile she puts her mouth in position but for some reason her face doesn't follow suit.

I caught her smiling and snapped this one quickly. She does better when it's no planned.

Alayna is such a clown; she can really put on a show.

Emma kept hollering at me, "look Memaw take a picture". I didn't know what on earth they were talking about until I looked around. I think he makes a pretty handsome reindeer, don't you?

Yesterday was wild in a good sort of way. George and Mary left around 4:30 to begin the process of getting the baby here.

When I got the girls up for school they jumped up squealing, "today we're going to have a baby brother". They were so excited that getting them up and going was not a problem at all; now keeping them focused that was another story!

After getting them ready to go I took a photo of them with Pepaw. God bless them, it's been a long time since I've styled the hair of a little girl, I think Alayna finally did her own.

They are so sweet even if they are mine!

After waiting all day he is finally here......

He's so sweet, I can't wait to hold him, maybe today?

He watched the girls a lot it looked just like he was concentrating on something. Maybe he was thinking, "boy am I in trouble."

You also wonder what's going on in Emma's mind!

We didn't stay long, Mary was tired and the girls were so hiper! We tried everything to calm them down and it just wouldn't work. Pepaw and I took them home gave them baths and put them to bed, they were asleep in no time.

We are in Indiana visiting with our kids and waiting on the arrival of the new baby. In the meantime we are HAVING FUN!
