A Gluten-Free Trip to Georgia

We made it to Georgia for my cousin's daughter's wedding and had a great time. I was dreading the traveling and staying on my gluten-free diet. I had bought bars and peanuts and made GF sugar cookies for the trip. I ate a few of the cookies in the middle of the night when I had a bad headache so that I could take some medicine but other than that I didn't dip into my stash.

There were plenty of places to eat along the way and I ate way too much. I don't know why I think I'll starve when traveling because of having to eat gluten-free! I envy you who live up north and in the west it seems you have so many restaurants and we have hardly anything GF here in the south! :(

The only problem I had while traveling was after the wedding I went with my cousins to a steak house. I had explained my gluten problem and when my salad arrived it had croutons. I explained my problem once again and they took it back, I should have thought about it, my salad was returned very quickly. I looked over it good and ate because I was starved. At three o'clock the next morning I woke up with a migraine among some other things. Needless to say my trip home was everything but comfortable but I made it. God is gracious when these things happen and I always make it through.

This just goes to show we're not quiet completely educated on Celiac and eat gracefully gluten-free.

Oh, by the way the house is coming along and we should be cleaning up and getting ready to move soon. I'm so excited but still have a lot to do so I'd better get to work!

Cure for Cold Sores

I have not blogged in a while have been sick with something like a sinus infection and it has taken a while to get over it.

Ash, Punkin and I just returned from Jackson where we attended the wedding of one of my nieces. I love weddings, the brides are always beautiful and it is such a happy occasion.

Punkin did great, she was taken completely out of her environment and off her schedule but she hung in there and made the best of it.  My Dad was able to carry her around his home church and show her off; you should have seen it he is a little bit proud of that baby girl. She is growing up so fast, I look to receive a call from Ash any day now that she is crawling.

We'll be going back to Jackson next weekend to celebrate Dad's 70th birthday.

Ok, I need your help. I was feeling well enough to go with Ash but Thursday I had a fever blister to break out on my upper lip, nothing you could not cover it up with lipstick. Then Friday night I was washing my face and noticed three small blisters on my nose. Oh, NO I knew what this was, I tried to back out of going anywhere but Ash promised me that with my makeup they did not look bad. I'm sorry if you so me and thought I was absolutely gross looking. What do you do for fever blisters? I've been told to take Lysine so I'm doing that now. My allergy Doctor told me that fever blisters are a break down of the immune system and it's true just about every time I have them I end up sick. UGGG.
