A Thanksgiving to Remember

We had Thanksgiving in our new home this year with ALL of our children and my Dad and it was great. These are memories that I hope we never forget and so I am posting some of the photos of our Thanksgiving photo shoot.

We may not be grand but we have great children who gave us grand-children!

Our beautiful family!

The siblings with their children.

The apples of our eyes!

The two babies of the family! Punkin just turned one and Little Man will be one soon.

I don't know if Little Man knew what to think of Punkin but she sure had fun!

I didn't think about it but I did not have a photo taken of me and my Dad. Thank you Ash for thinking for me!

I think out of all the photos this is my favorite. The is our middle daughter and her husband. One day we'll have babies to add to this beautiful family. By the way if you have not already check out Sarah's business on the side bar of my page.

Oh, by the way these we taken on our back deck what a blessing to have such a beautiful backdrop.

We don't take lightly a visit from our children we realize that they take time off and make long trips just to spend time with us and for that we are thankful.

I hope that you had as great a Thanksgiving as we all did!!!

Excitement fills the air and I can't wait!

Syd is staying with us while Ashia and Ben are away for the weekend. We just got through taking a bath and she is asleep now in my lap. When she takes a bath she has a robe at home she wears because she is very cold natured. I didn't have the robe so I used her sweatshirt and wrapped her in a good thick blanket and she was fine.  Now that it is over I think she feels much better!

While in Indiana Mary told me of a new store in town and that it had a large selection of Gluten-Free items. Steve and I went and checked it out and I bought a few things that I needed wanted. I have already tried the Ian's Cinnamon Bun bars and I think I like them better than the Apple Pie ones. I can't wait to try the others.

We enjoyed our time in Indiana so much. Thank you George and Mary for always making us feel at home and for sharing your family with us!

Here are a few more photos that I took before we left.

Josh had Pepaw time often!

My girls have transferred from McDonald's to the Mac book. That's scary they are growing up too fast!

Just like Emma we had a hard time getting going on Thursday morning. We always enjoy our visits and hate it when they have to end.

Honey has been in the field today so I feel planting is just around the corner. In a way I look forward to it, again I love watching things grow. This year will be different; I have a lot of things going on and will be busier than normal. I sit back and wonder how can this be but then I think of the future and excitement fills the air. I can't wait!!! Keep tuned in so that you will know what is going on in our household in the near future.

Not a creature was stirring not even a mouse.

We arrived in Indiana safe and sound although it was late at night so we slipped in the house and tried not to wake up anyone. I hated the idea of not seeing my kids until the next morning but it was way too late for them.

Joshua is so much bigger than since we saw him last but we have each been getting in some loving time.

Josh watching cartoons or the colors changing on the TV?

His favorite place to sleep, his swing. He spends hours swinging, he'll wake up look around and go right back to sleep. Thank the Lord for swings! Notice his little mohawk, it's a natural not man made!

Emma with her new puppy.

After supper the girls each took a turn holding brother.

Emma holding him and watching cartoons. He had about had enough.

We'll blog again later, keep Mary in your prayers she has her surgical  procedure in the morning. Pepaw and I will be in charge of all the children!

A Recape of 2009

I can't believe "2009" is now another page written in my book of life. Now I am writing a new chapter "2010". There is so much to be thankful for. Walk with me through the past year of my life, see the good, the bad and the ugly.

Another blessed year with the love of my life!

Last January me and two of my girls went on our first girls trip to Nashville to see Celine Dion. Maybe we can all four take a trip in the future!

In February all of our kids met us in Memphis, TN for the annual "Gin Show". Our daughter, Sarah had a booth selling jewelry,  which is listed on the right side of this page under "My children" web pages as "Sarah's Business". This was a special time because Sarah lives in CO and we aren't able to get together a lot, we made a weekend of it.
While at the "Gin Show" Ben and Ashia announced to the family that they were going to be first time parents we were sooo excited!

In March State won the SEC Championship, we love our Dawgs!

Farming was looking good, we were so excited about our earning potential the crops were some of the best we had ever had. Then the rains came and it rained for weeks, the crops began to rot in the field and there was no way to get them out. We're thankful that we salvaged most of our crops and although we didn't have the profit we once thought we still made a profit.

When we could take a break we went to see our children and grand-children in IN. We always enjoy time spent with them.

The end of July I had my third stomach procedure.
                  The Cloyd Thacker Family

I am never able to get together with my cousins anymore due to the distance we all live from each other. In September I attended the "Thacker's Family Reunion" and all of my immediate cousins on my Dad's side were there. We had a great time together.

We were blessed with Austin Rivers

In October Sarah came home to see Austin.

George, Mary and the girls were able to come too! The girls enjoyed their time with their new cousin. We also celebrated Alayna's 7th birthday.

We were blessed with Joshua William, our first grandson!

Chicken Broccoli Casserole & a list of Christmas lights in our local area!

The girls are gone, Pepaw is running the vacuum cleaner and I am washing up the school girls cloths and cooking lunch and dinner. For lunch I am using some leftover chicken and making homemade chicken salad, a family favorite. For dinner I am making my "Chicken Broccoli Casserole" and serving it with a baby lettuce salad. The girls love this casserole so I thought it would be just the treat to serve before we go to view the "Lights Under Louisville", and maybe Momma will have some leftovers to serve them later.

Chicken Broccoli Casserole
Servings: 8

Source: Marion Brummet

1 tsp. garlic salt
4 cups broccoli; partially cooked
1 chicken; cooked and chopped
2 cups grated cheddar cheese

Mix the first six ingredients together and set aside. Mix the chicken, broccoli, breadcrumbs and cheese together then add the mayonnaise mixture to it. Put in a 3x9x12 dish and bake in the oven for 1-hour at 350 degrees.

I make this recipe gluten-free by using, Glutano "Cream of Mushroom Soup Mix".

We had several special times of singing Christmas carols with the girls. I love, love Christmas music so that was right down my alley.

"Lights Under Louisville" was a lot of fun it was cold and rainy so driving through a cavern looking at Christmas lights was the thing to do. These are special times that we will remember for years to come, I hope the girls do.  For all of you local people I ran across this and it looks like fun too. I plan to check it out when we get home. Clink HERE, then click on the letters over Mississippi and it list the info and driving directions.

Steve and I will be traveling tomorrow! I'm excited about making plans for Christmas with our SMALL family. Our older girls and their families will not be with us and we'll dearly miss them but we'll try to make the best of it until we're able to all be together again!!!

We LOVE ALL our kids from the youngest to the oldest!!!!
