The Snow at Our House

We enjoyed watching it snow all afternoon and night on Sunday. I felt so blessed sitting in front of our fireplace, in a warm house, drinking hot drinks and watching the snow.

Monday morning when I got up I was freezing but I thought it was just me, then around nine I realized that our temp in the family room was dropping. So I woke up Honey to come check it out. It seems our downstairs furnace has quit. Honey did all that he could and we have a call in to have it repaired. So now I'm sitting in my house wearing shorts (because our gas logs are keeping it sooo warm) with snow on the ground.

It sounds like it's raining outside so I take it the snow is melting and will soon be just another chapter in our book of life.

Come along with me now.....

Can you see the deer tracks, they came right up to our house ya'll. Honey said, "don't open the door, I believe they'd come inside!"

From the hills!!!

Thanks for visiting and ya'll come back soon.

A New Year a New Thing, Sharing My Favorites Part 1

I'm always looking for ways to become a more interesting blogger. At times my blogs seem mundane and boring and I would love to improve on that!

So this year I'm going to try something new.

As a blogger and a avid blog reader I read a lot of material that I say, "wow I wish I had written that"! Well the truth is I didn't write it but I've decided that when I read a few really good blogs that I want to share I am going to link to them and share them with you my readers. Maybe this will be a monthly thing, I'm not sure.

So grab a drink get comfy and READ and when you're finish let me know what you think.

Another innocent life lost.

Launch of Mobile version of website to help Celiacs find GF-friendly places to eat

Wow look at this:

The Gluten Free Travel site has just launched a free mobile version of their website, GlutenFreeTravelSite
( http://www.glutenfreetravelsite.com ). This site helps people with Celiac and others following gluten-free diets to find safe places to eat, either in their area or in places they travel.  Unlike many "apps" that cost money and need to be downloaded, the mobile version of GlutenFreeTravelSite is absolutely FREE to use and automatically accessible via any smart phone -- be it an iPhone, Blackberry, or Android-based phone.

Visitors accessing the site "on the go" via a smart phone will now have a more user-friendly experience finding "gluten-free friendly" restaurants, grocery stores, bakeries, and hotels/resorts wherever they are. Similar to the experience on GlutenFreeTravelSite, users will be able to search the huge database of gluten-free dining and travel reviews by entering a city/town or zip code. The search results appear on a a Google map, and clicking on any establishment on the list will enable users to link to the review.

Other key features of the mobile version include GlutenFreeTravelSite's Gluten Free Restaurant Menus section which lists national and regional restaurant chains that offer gluten-free menus -- and provides direct links to those menus as well as the restaurants' locations. Users of the mobile version will even be able to visit the site's Blog, Facebook and Twitter pages, and read the Featured Review of the Month.

To access the mobile version, you simply enter the regular URL for GlutenFreeTravelSite ( http://www.glutenfreetravelsite.com ) into your mobile phone’s browser, and you’ll automatically be routed to the mobile version of the site. More details can be found in our Press Release.

Thank you for taking an interest in the gluten free community and thanks for stopping by ya'll!

Good Friends, Good Food and Gluten Free

We had a fun New Year celebration, lots of gluten free food and fun with family and friends. One of the greatest things was the Bulldogs won their bowl game!

Of course Punkin was the center of attention. She is talking our ears off but still in a foreign language.

She spent time with everyone in the house.

Friday night we stayed up and brought in the New Year while playing board games. We put Punkin to bed but early Saturday morning Ben came dragging her downstairs it seems that Punkin decided when Dad and Mom came to bed she was ready to celebrate New Years and she did, all night long.
We watched her while Ben and Ash went to watch the football game with friends. And let me tell you, she was soooo easy, she was worn out and slept straight through from the time they left until after the game. Then we all went to Starkville to meet them and have supper together before we said our good-byes.

Thank you Mark and Karen for your visit!!!!

She had to wear her Maroon and White to Starkville on gameday!

Punkin enjoyed her meal then went back to sleep and slept until the next morning, bless her heart!

Today Honey and I have been making plans to go see our other babies. As we grow older and slow down some we're planning to spend more holidays with them. Sometimes we just have to use our growing older as a benefit and not a limitation!

We're thankful for God's blessing in 2010 and for his promising to see us through 2011!
