Bakery on Main TrueBar Review

I love Bakery on Main's granola so when they contacted me to try their new True Bars I was sooo excited.  When I received the bars and ate my first one I was NOT disappointed. They are delicious and one of the best things is that they are lower in calories than most of the granola bars out there.

So far I have ate the Fruit and Nut Bar and the Walnut Cappuccino Bar and both are wonderful.

Here's a little more information for you.
The True Bar is a new bar that appears to be similar to the KIND Bar.  The slogan for the bar is “I’ve got nothing to hide”.  There are six varieties of bars:
  • Hazelnut Chocolate Cherry
  • Walnut Cappuccino
  • Fruit and Nut
  • Raspberry Chocolate Almond
  • Coconut Cashew
  • Almond Chai
TrueBar a new line of fruit and nut bars are a good source of Fiber and Omega 3, made with many low-GI ingredients, non-GMO , dairy and casein free. This bar also has low sodium with no transfat or cholesterol and is certified gluten free and Kosher Parve.
The True Bars are certified gluten-free and range from 150 – 190 calories, 2-4 grams of protein, 3 grams of fiber and 6-12 grams of fat.  Bakery on Main also makes soft chewy granola bars, you can read my review of them here.

Our Story

It all started in the small bakery of a natural foods market on Main Street in Glastonbury, Connecticut. Founder Michael Smulders listened to his Celiac customers complain about the taste of many of the gluten free options available to them. He thought that no one should have to suffer because of a food allergy or other special dietary need, and made it his mission to create products that were good for them but taste like they aren’t.

Late in 2003, after tasting a granola recipe one of the bakers was working on, Smulders said, “these gluten free people need granola!” He walked through the store and gathered ingredients and baked the first batch that day. It took almost 2 years to find gluten free sources of all the ingredients and find a place where we could make the product without risk of cross-contamination.

Three years and two bakeries later, their gluten free granola is made in a 34,000 square foot manufacturing facility with state of the art quality controls and in-house gluten testing on every batch. Located just a few miles down the road from the original bakery, the plant maintains the small bakery quality by continuing to bake in small batches.

Went to our local health food store the other day (Naturally Yours) in Peoria, IL and I tried several of your Tru Bars - well needless to say they were DELICIOUS - I think they are the BEST I have ever eaten, a little pricy , but worth it. I will definately be purchasing some more - OMG they are so good and healthy!! Thank You!
